The East Valley Jewish Community Building Initiative will provide the starting point for an ongoing conversation about how to create a stronger, even more cohesive Jewish community in the East Valley. 2:10 - 2:25 / Community Building: The Empowered Community Stuart Wachs, President and CEO, Jewish Community Association of Greater Phoenix Discussing the importance of community building, the Jewish Community Association’s mission and ways we can work together to increase opportunities for Jewish engagement in the East Valley and throughout Metropolitan Phoenix.
2:25 - 2:45 / Moving Beyond Boundaries: Building Community in the 21st Century Rabbi Darren Kleinberg, Executive Director of Valley Beit Midrash This presentation raises the important question, “What can our Jewish past tell us about building community in the East Valley today?”
2:45 - 3:40 / Strategy Session Breakout groups discuss opportunities for communication, collaboration and programming among organizations that will create a stronger Jewish Community in the East Valley.
3:40 - 3:55 / Break
3:55 - 4:30 / Group Presentations Each breakout group will present their ideas to all the participants in order to create a foundation for ongoing dialogue across organizations to further develop the East Valley Jewish Community.
4:30 - 4:45 / Where Do We Go from Here? Moving Forward Together Steve Tepper, CEO/Executive Director of the East Valley Jewish Community Center Offering a vision for how Jewish leaders can truly build on the foundation established here to unify and strengthen the East Valley Jewish community moving forward.
