Haike and Sara - The Journey Home

"Haike and Sara - The Journey Home" is the story of two Zionist women who settled in Palestine in the 1930s, but returned to visit their families in Bedzin, Poland.

Quite remarkably they survived ghettoization and even managed to get back to Israel in 1942, in an exchange with the German government that brought back German citizens from Palestine in exchange for foreign nationals. These two women provided some of earliest eyewitness account of life in the ghettos and the film provides good documentary evidence. The son of one of these women lives in Phoenix, Arizona (USA).

Produced in Israel. Hebrew with English subtitles.
